How Metal Sentinel sources, writes, edits, and corrects the precious metals coverage and pricing data we publish.

Last updated: May 05, 2026

1. Mission & Scope

Metal Sentinel publishes pricing data and editorial coverage for ten spot-traded metals β€” gold, silver, platinum, palladium, rhodium, copper, nickel, aluminum, lead, and zinc β€” alongside related mining and macroeconomic context. Our goal is to help developers, traders, journalists, and analysts understand what is moving the metals market and to integrate that data into their own products with confidence.

2. Independence

Editorial decisions are made independently of commercial relationships. We do not accept payment in exchange for favorable coverage, ranking, or placement in any article. Sponsored content, if ever published, will be clearly labeled as such and held to the same factual standards as our regular coverage.

3. Sources & Data Integrity

Spot prices and intraday quotes are sourced directly from Kitco via licensed data feeds. Historical series, mining-equity data, and FX conversions are drawn from established market data providers. Every numeric claim in an article is traceable to a primary source β€” exchange filings, central-bank releases, company reports, or regulator publications β€” which we link to whenever it is publicly accessible.

We do not publish prices, holdings figures, or production numbers we cannot verify against at least one primary or established secondary source.

4. Writing & Review Process

Articles are drafted by our markets editor and reviewed for factual accuracy, clarity, and tone before publication. Each piece goes through:

  • A research pass that gathers primary sources and current market data.
  • A draft that contextualizes the day's price action against broader trends.
  • An editorial review checking numbers, names, dates, and links.
  • A final read for plain-language clarity and to remove avoidable jargon.

5. Use of AI Tools

We use AI-assisted tooling to research, summarize sources, and draft initial copy. Every published article is reviewed and edited by a human before it goes live, and every factual statement is independently verified against primary sources. AI is an assistant in the workflow, not the author of record.

6. Corrections

We correct mistakes promptly and transparently. If you spot a factual error, please contact us. Corrections of substance β€” wrong figures, misattributed quotes, factual errors that change the meaning of a piece β€” are noted at the bottom of the affected article along with the date of the update. Minor edits (typos, formatting) are made silently.

7. Bylines & Authorship

Articles are signed by the editor responsible for the piece. Author profiles include the editor's name, role, and area of focus. Where content is contributed by an outside author or partner, the byline and any relationship are disclosed in the article.

8. Conflicts of Interest

Editors and contributors are required to disclose any personal financial position β€” direct holdings, derivatives, or material exposure β€” in a metal, mining company, or related security that is the primary subject of an article. Coverage decisions are not influenced by personal positions, and material conflicts will result in the writer recusing themselves from the piece.

9. Not Financial Advice

All editorial content on Metal Sentinel is published for informational purposes only. Nothing on this site constitutes investment, trading, tax, or legal advice, and no article should be read as a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any asset. Readers should consult a qualified professional before making financial decisions.

10. Reader Feedback

We take reader feedback seriously. Tips, source suggestions, complaints, and correction requests can be sent through our contact page. We aim to respond to substantive editorial inquiries within five business days.
